Overview
Within the Resources directorates, the Strategy and Impact Service drives Lambeth 2030 ambitions. The Strategy and Policy Design Manager will lead strategic projects to translate priorities into actionable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Strategy and Impact, External Affairs, Performance, Research and Equalities teams to design and deliver strategic initiatives.
- Work with senior officers, councillors and external partners to address complex, wicked issues and achieve consensus.
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, navigating ambiguity to produce clear, actionable recommendations.
- Influence policy and strategy development across the council; support reaccreditation as Borough of Sanctuary, Lambeth Growth Plan and Corporate Peer Challenge.
- Present findings and progress reports to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Lambeth 2030 goals.

- Strong knowledge of local government principles, challenges and policy‑making processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize, and deliver outcomes under ambiguity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills—capable of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including senior officers, councillors and external partners.
- Highly motivated, agile, curious and passionate about local government and community impact.
