About the Team
Within the Public Realm & Safety division, our Lambeth Violence Reduction Unit leads the borough-wide approach to tackling violence and improving public safety. The Lambeth VRU drives strategy, partnership work, commissioning, programme delivery and community engagement to address the root causes of violence. We work closely with residents, young people, survivors, the Metropolitan Police, the National Probation Service, schools and voluntary and community organisations to deliver meaningful and measurable change.
About the Role
As a Senior Violence Reduction Unit Workstream Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Lambeth’s strategy for Violence Affecting Young People and Adults under the age of 25 and the Safer Lambeth Partnership Strategy. You will lead the Lambeth VRU’s priority thematic workstreams, providing strategic direction, programme oversight, project management and partnership leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering annual action plans and multi-agency partnership work.
- Producing strategic briefings and reports on violence reduction initiatives.
- Leading community and practitioner engagement, including forums and resident-led initiatives.
- Providing expert advice on legislation, emerging national policy and best practice in violence reduction.
