Havering Council is looking for a Software Engineer with customer focus to join our team of engineers in our Product Management and Customer Experience Team. We focus on building products that enable council teams to interact with customers, making sure each stage of that interaction has an excellent customer experience baked into it.
This means it is both a challenging and rewarding environment as we work through the varied requests and customer needs so we're looking not only for a display of technical skills but for someone who can problem solve, challenge the norms and be willing to learn new things along the way.
You'll be working with Power Apps, Logic Apps, Granicus forms, the D365 CRM environment, integrations using APIs and SSIS and SQL databases to name a few. Not fully up to speed in those areas? Don't worry. We can offer training support to fill the knowledge gaps.
If you enjoy building something that helps improve the interactions between residents and council teams then this is the role for you! In return Havering offers a great employee scheme, a defined career pathway, opportunities to learn new skills at every turn and an excellent pension scheme.
We want everyone to choose Havering. When you apply for a job with us, your application is considered on its merits regardless of your age, disability, ethnicity, faith, gender identity or sexual orientation. Our residents and service users come from all walks of life, and so do our employees.
The London Borough of Havering has important responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. If you are appointed to a job that involves working with these groups, you may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Before applying do make sure you have the right to work in the UK.
Interviews will be in 2 stages. If selected, you'll first have an informal meeting to discuss the role and if taken further there will be a 2nd panel based interview. Please attach your CV and supporting statement, explaining in no more than x2 A4 sides why and how you meet the criteria for this role. We practice anonymised recruitment.
