The London Borough of Havering is seeking a Family Therapist to deliver an effective children's social care service within a multidisciplinary social work team. The role will bring systemic thinking and casework into the service, working alongside social workers and other practitioners to provide therapeutic interventions and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide systemic therapeutic services for the most complex cases, including direct work and assessment of therapeutic need with families.
- Lead and deliver evidence‑based early interventions to help prevent family or placement breakdown.
- Ensure services are culturally responsive to children from black and minority ethnic groups and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children.
- Maintain high standards of record‑keeping in line with systemic expectations.
- Assess risk and protective factors, lead clinical assessment in high‑risk cases, and respond to child protection concerns in line with procedures.
- Make independent clinical decisions within the supervisory framework.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Systemic and Family Therapy, or currently qualifying for one.
- Experience working in a child‑focused therapeutic setting.
