The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 £ per year.
This exciting role includes providing specialist advice, guidance and support for staff who support young people with a diagnosis of autism and attending primary mainstream schools across the borough. It will also include supporting our exciting and new additional resourced provisions being established in our mainstream settings.
The successful candidate will also design and lead training sessions in person and virtually for schools to support positive outcomes for our autistic students. During school holidays there are opportunities to develop and support programmes to support autistic students.
The Person
- Providing information and signposting for those accessing the service and working in partnership with parents, voluntary and statutory agencies.
- In person and virtual support for individual and groups of staff, involving travelling around the borough of Brent and some neighbouring boroughs.
- Significant recent experience of supporting a range of autistic students in primary mainstream schools and possibly specialist settings.
- Knowledge and strong practice of a range of strategies and interventions to support autistic students in mainstream primary schools.
- High expectations for children and young people to achieve.
- Experience of planning and leading training sessions with staff.
- Experience of effective working with other agencies.
- Competent computer and written skills.
- Enthusiasm, open to learning, creativity, a positive disposition and a sense of humour.
- Ability to manage your own time, proactive and adaptable in your practice.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to be part of a team.
