The Post
Are you passionate about gas compliance, health & safety, and delivering high quality housing services? We are seeking a dedicated Contract and Quality Manager to play a vital role in ensuring that our housing stock remains safe, secure, and fully compliant with statutory and regulatory gas safety obligations. You will join a forward thinking local authority team and take the lead on the management of gas compliance across our portfolio. This includes overseeing gas servicing, heating maintenance and installation programmes, contractor performance, risk management, and compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. While working collaboratively with other compliance areas, your primary focus will be ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of gas systems.
The Person
- Take operational responsibility for compliance across our gas and heating housing portfolio.
- Act as Contract Administrator, Manager, or Supervising Officer for mechanical service-related contracts.
- Develop and deliver strategic compliance plans, policies, and programmes.
- Lead on risk management, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee annual programmes for testing, inspection and maintenance.
- Work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to drive quality, safety, and best value.
- Support the Building Safety Manager role and contribute to Building Safety Cases and emerging legislation.
- Embed innovation and sustainability—including climate change considerations—into your compliance strategies.
- The ideal candidate would be experienced in managing gas and heating programmes within a social housing environment.
- Holding gas related qualifications would be desirable.
