Public Health Strategist Gambling Harms – Fixed Term (INTERNAL)
The Public Health Strategist (Gambling Harms Prevention) will lead the strategic development, coordination and delivery of Barnet Council’s approach to preventing and reducing gambling‑related harms. The postholder will work across the council and with external partners to develop the council’s approach to addressing gambling harms, including the development of a gambling harms prevention strategy.
Responsibilities
• Lead strategic development and delivery of gambling‑harms prevention initiatives. • Coordinate across council departments and external partners to implement the prevention strategy. • Analyze and interpret public health data related to gambling harms, including qualitative and epidemiological evidence. • Conduct health needs assessments and co‑produce research with stakeholders. • Facilitate effective partnership working to plan and deliver services that reduce gambling‑related harms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate degree in Public Health or an equivalent field with relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in public health on wider determinants of health.
- Experience in conducting health needs assessments, including collation, analysis and interpretation of key public health data, information and evidence, including qualitative data.
- Experience coordinating research on public health issues with an emphasis on co‑production.
- Experience of effective partnership working with external and internal stakeholders to plan and deliver services.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and synthesize complex information, including epidemiological data, from a number of sources.
