About Street Scene: Street Scene is the one service that reaches every resident of the borough. We are committed to delivering a high quality, value for money service to all residents and businesses in the borough. We are responsible for Recycling & Waste and Garden Waste collections from domestic properties, Street Cleansing across the borough, our Grounds Maintenance service who maintain our many parks and green spaces, our Commercial Waste team provide services to many businesses in the borough, Passenger Transport where we provide a school transport service to children and vulnerable adults and our Fleet department who maintain all of the council’s vehicles, from large waste collection vehicles to small vans.
About the role: The LGV driver will:
- Have a good geographical knowledge of Barnet
- Have experience of using incab technology and hold current CPC
- Support the supervisory team by monitoring local environmental quality standards.
- Have a level of responsibility for the associated vehicles, plant, equipment in all Street cleansing operations.
- Experience of related Health and Safety and Highways regulations, including Chapter 8 guidance.
About you:
- You will have a valid Class 2 HGV licence.
- You will have strong experience of Street Cleansing operations.
- You will have experience of delivering high quality customer services, with improved outcomes.
- You will demonstrate strong experience of working across teams / service areas to enable the business to be managed in the most efficient way possible, with positive outcomes.
- You will be able to demonstrate political awareness.
- You will have a positive, can do attitude.
