About the role:

As our Data and Finance Officer, you will be a key member of the Customer and Business Development Team. You will support budget management and financial processes, administer case and data management systems, and turn accurate information into useful reports. Your work will help teams make sound decisions, protect the public purse and deliver effective services for residents and businesses.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial administration, including supporting budget monitoring, forecasting, invoices and payments.
  • Maintaining finance, case management and data systems so that information is complete, reliable and accessible.
  • Producing reports, data and management information to support oversight, planning and decision-making.
  • Working with colleagues to improve processes, strengthen compliance and deliver an efficient business support service.

About you:

We are looking for a friendly, organised and motivated individual who can work as part of a team to provide exceptional finance and business support. You will bring attention to detail, sound judgement and a commitment to excellent service. You can manage competing priorities, build productive working relationships and handle financial and operational information with accuracy and discretion.

You will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of financial processes and financial systems e.g. setting up customers and suppliers, creating purchase orders, invoicing, issuing credit notes.
  • Proven experience of maintaining databases and case management systems, including user management, data quality assurance, and system improvements.
  • Experience of analysing data and producing and presenting statistical and management reports.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality customer service and operational or business support.
  • Experience of working in a local authority or a similarly complex organisation would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
