Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality checks on benefit assessments, help prepare subsidy estimates and audit information, and monitor overpayments to ensure they are correctly classified and recovered.
  • Review overpayment cases, issue recovery letters, agree payment plans, and liaise with the DWP and other agencies.
  • Take part in software testing for system upgrades and new releases.

Qualifications

  • IRRV certificate qualification (or equivalent) with experience of working in a benefits environment, including extensive knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Legislation and an understanding of benefit subsidy legislation and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent IT ability, with clear communication skills and attention to detail.
