You could join our supportive and forward-thinking Council whether you are a recent graduate and, as well as working, would like to train to be a planner, or you have a planning degree and are starting your career, or you are an experienced professional. You will be able to work on a wide range of projects, from housing and regeneration to conservation, coastal planning and major developments, helping us balance growth with the preservation of our unique heritage. Our Borough offers a wide range of planning issues in which you will become involved and contribute to your continuing professional development.
As Planner (starting salary £38,268 to £46,269) – you will hold a degree in Town Planning with at least two years relevant experience, eligible for full Membership of the RTPI, and looking to take on more complex casework and appeals. At whichever level you join us, we can help you to grow your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. With our Planner Progression Scheme, you will be supported to develop professionally and progress your career through to Senior Planner within the team.
We are looking for team players with strong communication skills and a passion for planning. We are committed to supporting and developing our staff and promote a good work-life balance with hybrid working arrangements and a flexible working scheme. We also offer a competitive salary, performance related pay, generous annual leave including office closure between Christmas and New Year, local government pension scheme, employee benefits scheme and RTPI subscription payment.
