Responsibilities

  • Daily cleaning and presentation of the chapel, public spaces and wider complex
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of memorial and garden areas
  • Support the cremation process and carry out routine equipment checks
  • Act as Chapel Attendant to provide assistance before, during and after services
  • Undertake the strewing and interment of cremated remains and ensure all public areas are welcoming and well maintained for visitors
  • Work on a rota that includes Saturdays and Bank Holidays (full details given on the job description)

Qualifications

  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the cremator operator qualification
  • Capable of undertaking a range of physical tasks
  • Confident working alone when required
  • Able to follow procedures accurately
  • Appreciation of the needs of the bereaved
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance varying priorities
