Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and presentation of the chapel, public spaces and wider complex
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of memorial and garden areas
- Support the cremation process and carry out routine equipment checks
- Act as Chapel Attendant to provide assistance before, during and after services
- Undertake the strewing and interment of cremated remains and ensure all public areas are welcoming and well maintained for visitors
- Work on a rota that includes Saturdays and Bank Holidays (full details given on the job description)
Qualifications
- Hold, or be willing to work towards, the cremator operator qualification
- Capable of undertaking a range of physical tasks
- Confident working alone when required
- Able to follow procedures accurately
- Appreciation of the needs of the bereaved
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance varying priorities
