We have a family-owned company, 60+ years strong, cash-rich and quietly thriving in super-prime residential. They deliver homes where craftsmanship, detail, and precision actually matter. And now they’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor (permanent position) who can turn chaos into clarity.
ÂŁ17m - ÂŁ20m project.
If you’ve ever worked on super-prime London residential projects, or earned your stripes with Tier 1, 2 or 3 contractors, you’ll know the life:
- Snag lists long enough to qualify as their own postcode.
- Gantt charts that look like modern art drawn by someone with a vendetta against logic.
- Subcontractors who treat schedules like polite suggestions, not instructions.
- Clients who assume “budget” is a mythical creature invented to amuse QSs.
We want the QS who quietly keeps a build upright. The one who:
- Notices a 1 mm misalignment like it’s a sinkhole in the living room.
- Translates architect optimism, contractor improvisation, and client whimsy into a report that actually makes sense.
- Manages risk and anticipates surprises.
Patience is part of the job. Patience for provisional sums that behave like cats, variations that seem to appear out of thin air, and clients who think “finish to a standard” is negotiable.
If you’re ready to stop apologising for costs, stop firefighting other people’s mistakes, and finally work somewhere your skill, experience, and judgment are genuinely respected, this is the role for you.
