An established and highly respected London contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Estimator to join its growing Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an agile, adaptable and personable estimator looking to join a stable business with an outstanding reputation, long-standing client relationships and a diverse portfolio of refurbishment and fit-out projects across London.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders for M&E projects ranging from £100k to £3m, working closely with operational teams, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process. Key responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed estimates and tender submissions
- Carrying out take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Producing first principles estimates
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Supporting value engineering exercises
- Working closely with building estimators on integrated bids
- Attending site visits and surveys where required
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an M&E Estimator
- Experience delivering commercial refurbishment or fit-out projects
- Strong first principles estimating experience
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills
- Able to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
