A well-established Central London refurbishment contractor is continuing to grow and is looking to add an experienced Intermediate or recently stepped-up Senior Quantity Surveyor to the team.
This is a client-facing commercial role, working on refurbishment projects with real character — traditional buildings, heritage assets, and the occasional modern scheme — typically ranging from £100k–£500k (with some larger works).
If you’re comfortable navigating JCT contracts, managing multiple jobs at once, and dealing professionally with corporate landlords and surveyors, this is very much your lane.
The Role
- Running 2–3 refurbishment projects at a time initially, increasing once settled
- Residential-led refurbishments with mixed-use and commercial elements
- Project values typically £100k–£500k
- Regular interaction with Tier 1 & Tier 2 corporate landlords and Tier 1–3 building surveying practices
- Preparing estimates, pricing variations, managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
- Tracking costs, forecasting cashflow, and producing clear commercial reporting
- Working under JCT contracts (Minor, Intermediate, D&B exposure helpful)
- Office-based initially, moving to hybrid working after probation (3 months)
What they’re looking for
- Experienced Intermediate QS or recent Senior QS
- Background in refurbishment works essential
- Confident, professional, and comfortable in client-facing meetings
- A strong negotiator — commercially astute with both clients and subcontractors
- Technically capable and confident working from drawings and schedules of works
- Calm under pressure, organised, and proactive
- Heritage experience beneficial (around 2 in 5 projects), but not essential
The Company
This is a specialist refurbishment contractor working across Central London, delivering projects for corporate landlords, charities, and professional client teams.
