Freelance Site Manager | Ministry of Justice | Isle of Wight Oct 2026 until April 2027
Not every Site Manager role is about a shiny new office or another warehouse.
Sometimes it's about getting four teams safely in and out of a prison every day... without leaving so much as a screwdriver behind.
We're looking for a Site Manager for a 6-month freelance contract (October 2026 β April 2027) on the Isle of Wight.
The construction itself is straightforward. The project involves installing thousands of window security grills throughout the prison.
The real skill is managing the environment.
Daily liaison with the prison, coordinating deliveries, organising escorts, planning access, keeping programmes moving and making sure every person, tool and fixing that goes in also comes back out.
If you're calm under pressure, organised and can build good relationships with everyone from operatives to prison staff, you'll probably enjoy this one.
The Site Manager wish list
EL1 security clearance (if not then takes 8 weeks to complete) Previous prison / MOJ (or similar secure environment) experience Easy access to the Isle of Wight Good communicator who enjoys running a tidy site It's not the sort of role that comes along every day, so if it sounds like your kind of challenge, give me a call.
