Somewhere in Edinburgh right now, a dryliner is asking where the drawings are, the electrician is blaming the corridor dimensions, somebody’s marked up 47 doors incorrectly… and a programme has quietly moved from “tight” to “interesting”. Which is exactly why this role exists.

Main contractor - established 50+ years - delivering a large accommodation scheme in Edinburgh:

  • 6 low/mid-rise blocks
  • 600+ bedrooms
  • 15 months remaining
  • Structural frame complete on 3 blocks
  • Steel frame works ongoing within the remaining 3 existing blocks
  • 2 blocks currently at 1st fix / partition stage
  • Remaining blocks moving into 1st fix from June

They’re looking for an Internals Manager / Site Manager / Fit-Out Manager who:

  • Can commute easily to Edinburgh
  • Has a decent track record with previous employers
  • Has delivered residential, hotel or student accommodation projects
  • Understands 1st fix through to handover properly
  • Can take ownership of a block without needing their hand held every 14 minutes

This is very much a “get amongst it” role:

  • Driving subcontractors
  • Coordinating trades
  • Keeping standards high
  • Keeping programme moving
  • Trying to get 11 different trades to work in the same corridor without looking like a rugby scrum

You’ll either take ownership of a restoration block or new build block from current stage through to completion.

Good contractor. Proper long-term project. Plenty of moving parts.

If interested - or if you know someone whose natural habitat is unfinished corridors, ceiling grids and saying “right, who’s actually in charge of this area?” - give me a shout.
