There’s currently a façade package in Edinburgh involving aluminium panelling, brickwork, stone restoration, pitched slate roofs and Kalzip. This project needs the person who walks towards those conversations rather than suddenly becoming “hard to get hold of”.

Main contractor - established 50+ years - delivering a large accommodation scheme in Edinburgh:

  • 6 low/mid-rise blocks
  • 600+ bedrooms
  • 15 months remaining
  • Structural frame complete on 3 blocks
  • Steel frame works ongoing within the remaining 3 existing blocks
  • 2 blocks currently at 1st fix / partition stage
  • Remaining blocks moving into 1st fix from June

The façade package includes:

  • Aluminium panelling
  • Brickwork
  • Large stone restoration package
  • Pitched slate roofs
  • Kalzip roofing system

They’re looking for a proper Façade / Envelope / Externals Manager who:

  • Can commute easily to Edinburgh
  • Has decent longevity on the CV (not 14 employers since Covid)
  • Has worked on residential, hotel or student accommodation projects
  • Can take ownership of a block and see it through properly
  • Understands that “I’ll sort it” usually means you’re now solving 11 other problems nobody mentioned at the meeting

You’ll either take on a restoration block or a new build block and be trusted to run it like it’s your own. Good contractor. Good people. Busy project. Plenty going on.

If interested - or if you know someone who enjoys scaffold stairs, weather apps and subcontractors saying “we’re basically finished” three weeks before they actually are - give me a shout.
