The Company
Our client is an established super-prime residential contractor delivering high-end refurbishment and fit-out projects across Prime Central London. They operate within the £5m–£20m bracket, delivering complex, design-led schemes including listed buildings, structural alterations, basements and bespoke interiors. Due to continued growth and a team restructure, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to strengthen the pre-construction function.
The Role
- Prepare detailed cost plans and tender submissions for super-prime residential projects
- Take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Issue and manage subcontract tender enquiries
- Analyse and level subcontractor returns
- Build competitive and commercially robust tender submissions
- Work closely with Directors and Commercial Team during bid stages
- Assist with value engineering and buildability input
This role would ideally suit someone with a Quantity Surveying background who has moved into estimating, or a strong QS who enjoys pre-construction and pricing.
What they’re looking for
- Estimating experience within refurbishment / residential / structural projects
- Surveying background preferred (QS or Commercial background ideal)
- Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing
- Confident with take-offs and analysing drawings
- Commercially aware and detail focused
- Comfortable working within a smaller, fast-paced team
Prime residential experience is advantageous but not essential — strong refurbishment or structural experience is key.
The Projects
- High-end townhouse refurbishments
- Listed building upgrades
- Basement excavations
- Structural reconfigurations
- Bespoke luxury interiors
This is not volume housing — it’s detailed, technically challenging, one-off schemes.
