A growing main contractor is looking for a capable Design Manager to support both live projects and upcoming tenders across London and the Home Counties.

You will play a key role in strengthening the pre-construction function, working closely with senior leadership to bring clarity, structure, and technical control to a busy pipeline. This is a critical hire for the business ideal for someone confident working independently, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and stepping into an environment where your input will make an immediate impact.

The Role

  • Provide design management support across live schemes and early-stage tenders
  • Coordinate consultants, supply chain and project teams to maintain programme, quality and technical compliance
  • Review drawings/specs for buildability, risks, and value engineering opportunities
  • Lead design meetings, RFIs, approvals and document control through pre-construction
  • Support estimating and commercial teams to align design intent with procurement and delivery requirements
