Who we are

Born Social is a full service social media agency designed for the new era of advertising. Our client list includes household names like Guinness, Primark, Ford, Mars and ASDA as well as the next generation of big brands like Nando’s, Seedlip and Peloton.

Born’s production department is our engine of content creation, a fulltime team of 9 social-first experts. As social specialists we’ve positioned our team to be agile, think natively (platform specific), capable of delivering volume and to be multiskilled. The work in the department is of varied sizes, ranging from sprint style projects around 10-30k, all the way to full service projects of £200k+. Currently the department houses Producers, Art Directors, Videographers and Content Creators, and is growing quickly. The team works closely with both Creative and Design teams, developing production plans based on our social-first creative concepts.

As Head of Production, you are responsible for working with the Executive Creative Director, as well as the Head of Creative and the Head of Design to set a vision for a best in class production team.

It’s a growing team with huge momentum, so your day to day will be spent creating team culture, developing people, improving output, problem solving and strategy planning. We are looking for someone who can balance creativity, meticulous detail and commercial capability, to help us achieve our ambitions agency goals. You will form part of the Heads of Team who collaborate closely to grow Born Social’s capability and reach our business goals. Your experience means you recognise great social talent, are an inspiring leader, a clear communicator and capable of creating change quickly.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Department Strategy: Working with Executive Creative Director, Head of Design and Production Directors to set and deliver our Production team vision. Working to turn this vision into a strategy that impacts hiring, skill development, production delivery and revenue.
  • Department Performance: Ensuring that we have a happy and high performing team through inclusive culture, quality hiring, proactive personal development, organised ways of working and innovative creative thinking.
  • People Leadership: Leading on the performance and development of our Associate Directors, ensuring they are thriving both as individuals and as a team as well as the hiring and growth of their departments.
  • Delivery: Working directly into some of our most challenging brands and briefs, responsible for orchestration and oversight of production. Using your extensive knowledge of creative and impeccable eye for detail to act as a central pillar between creatives and clients.
  • Reporting & Feedback: Working with the Leadership team and Heads of Team to report on commercials and share feedback on our people, output and accounts.
  • Growing The Business: Working closely with our Executive Creative Director and other Heads of Department, to deliver on business goals and strategy relating to creative and production.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Agency experience: working in or with agencies so are familiar with the creative and delivery challenges you will face in this role.
  • Passion for social media: through working directly in the industry or through your own projects outside of work.
  • Production expertise: you have experience in production and feel confident making Born’s better in every way.
  • Commercial Confidence: you will be responsible for owning the pipeline of production opportunities across the agency, making sure they can be delivered and are commercially successful inline with our agency benchmarks.
  • Creative confidence: you have experience within a Creative department and are capable of feeding back on concepts in order to make sure they can be delivered within budget/timelines.
  • Leadership: the ability to inspire, motivate and grow the members of your team and a brilliant communicator.
  • High standards: you take pride in your work, have an impeccable eye for detail and you’re confident giving critical yet constructive feedback to set standards and develop those around you.
