We are currently recruiting a Calibration Technician to join the Quality team. The successful candidate will maintain the Calibration System and ensure conformance to internal quality systems and external audit requirements.
Site Location: BorgWarner Ltd, Roydsdale Way, Euroway Industrial Estate, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD4 6SE.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely calibration of all relevant measuring and test equipment
- Maintenance of the Calibration Database
- Accurate record keeping
- Coordination of all external calibration activities
- Ensure internal Quality Management System requirements for measuring and test equipment are met
- Measure samples
- Scrap reporting
- Timely liaison with external calibration suppliers
- Build strong working relationships with other departments and offer technical assistance when required
- The upholding of health and safety standards, including timely reaction to all health and safety issues
- The jobholder is responsible for working in compliance with BorgWarner’s policies and procedures to identify and record issues relating to the management of risk
- Compliance with policies and procedures designed to ensure equality of employment
- Co‑workers must be treated equally irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
Required Knowledge And Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Apprentice Trained – desirable
- Understanding of IATF 16949 requirements
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position (desired) – full training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiar with first principle measurement equipment (Plug gauge, Micrometer, Caliper, etc.) and associated calibration standards
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
- Good communication and numeracy skills
