Are you ready to leave school or already left school and looking for an apprenticeship to give you a trade for life? We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Bus and Coach Mechanic to join us at our Berwick depot. The successful candidate will be based within the mechanical workshop and will be involved in learning about the service, maintenance and repair of vehicles including removal and replacement of major components such as engines and gearboxes.
Formal apprenticeship training will be conducted at the GTG training centre in either Glasgow or Wolverhampton, depending on where they stay, where the apprentice will complete course modules under the guidance of a dedicated team of professionals, with practical and on the job training conducted at our depot in Berwick. In return for commitment to learning when attending training off-site the Company takes care of travelling expenses, accommodation costs and meals.
In order to qualify for funding, the candidate should:
- Be aged between 16-19
- Have 3 National 4’s or above (English, Maths and either a science or technical subject)
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be motivated and dedicated to learn
