We are looking for a motivated Semi-Skilled Bus & Coach Mechanic to join our team in Galashiels. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and build a long-term career, working on bus and coaches, keeping our vehicles safe, reliable and fully compliant.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet, including MOT preparation.
- Support fault diagnosis and repair work to a high standard, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Help ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with the Company’s Operator Licence requirements and relevant legislation.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, defect reports and associated documentation.
- Work both independently (including occasional lone working) and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Organise and prioritise your workload to meet operational requirements.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
About You
- Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative within a busy workshop environment.
- Keen to develop your skills and progress towards becoming a qualified PCV Mechanic.
- Full UK driving licence required; PCV licence desirable.
- Basic knowledge or experience of vehicle servicing and repair is advantageous.
