We’re looking for a Compliance Manager (Advisory) to bring expert insight, constructive challenge and commercial awareness to a pivotal role at the heart of our business. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Compliance and MLRO to help deliver robust compliance oversight across the organisation. From advising on regulatory change to supporting key business initiatives, you’ll play an important part in ensuring our policies, controls and ways of working remain effective, practical and aligned to a fast-moving regulatory environment.

The role – what you’ll be doing

  • The role provides independent second-line oversight, promotes a strong compliance culture, and ensures effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of regulatory, conduct risks.
  • Support the Head of Compliance in the day-to-day provision of compliance and anti-financial crime advice to the first line, in respect of all applicable regulation (e.g. best Execution and investment due diligence), including COBS, SYSC, COLL and FUND.
  • Active involvement in projects and other corporate change programmes.
  • Support the Head of Compliance in the effective consideration of regulation and regulatory change on business processes and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide technical regulatory support, advice and guidance to the Risk and Compliance team, including in respect of FCA and AIFMD regulations.

About you - and the value you’ll bring to our team

Essential
  • Experience in identifying and assessing regulatory changes and supporting the delivery of change through project governance.
  • Experienced in designing and delivering compliance-based governance reports.
  • Experience providing expert advice on regulatory compliance and conduct matters, within an investment management company, or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to train others.
  • Strength of character and credibility to objectively challenge senior management and/or functional heads within Border to Coast.
  • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Desirable
  • Practical knowledge of institutional Investment Management, and the fund structures we operate, along with the types of investments relevant to Border to Coast, including alternative assets and complex instruments.
