Border Oak’s diverse portfolio includes custom homes, commercial projects, international builds, and domestic structures. This is a full-time, on-site role for an Account Technician, based in Kingsland, Herefordshire. The Accounts Technician will handle day-to-day financial tasks, including bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, issuing invoices, processing payments, and analysing financial data. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in accounts who is confident working across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and has excellent organisation and communication skills.

Duties Include:

  • Completion of daily bank reconciliations
  • Managing the accounts payable process
  • Creating sales invoices and maintaining the sales ledger
  • Processing and paying subcontractors
  • Maintenance of various accounting reports
  • Managing the weekly payroll process
  • Processing staff/ad-hoc payments
  • Assist the Management Accountant with various tasks
  • Monitoring a shared finance inbox

Qualifications/Candidate:

  • Proficiency in Bookkeeping and Accounting practices, with a strong focus on accuracy and detail, ideally with at least 2 years current experience.
  • Understanding of Finance and the ability to analyse and manage financial data effectively.
  • Experience with Invoicing processes and ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment tracking.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors effectively.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency with financial software and tools (particularly Microsoft Office/Excel).
  • Experience in the construction industry and Pegasus accounting software will be an advantage, although experience in similar industry software will be considered.
  • Enthusiastic and with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
