Border Express currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Parcel Supervisor to join our operations team at the Salisbury South Branch.
Location: Salisbury South
Responsibilities:
- Ensure resource allocation is optimised to reduce costs and meet performance measures.
- Plan and monitor freight movements for effective utilisation to meet the operations schedule.
- Supervise loading and unloading of freight to ensure it is stored and restrained safely.
- Identify and initiate employee training where performance shortfalls are recognised or advancement opportunities are presented.
- Adhere to all BEX and customer site safety rules, including the Traffic Management Plan.
- Follow all Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions; seek clarity with your Manager when unsure.
- Respond to and investigate incidents, hazards, unsafe acts and damages promptly.
- Address freight or equipment damages immediately; report and, if necessary, report for escalation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the Transport Industry in a supervisory role.
- Proven ability to build and motivate a team, fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Sound knowledge of Dangerous Goods requirements, Load Restraint requirements, WHS and relevant transportation Acts and Regulations.
- Ability to follow company policy and ensure staff adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
