Brand Manager (Maternity Cover)

Salary Range between £38,000 to £42,000 per annum

Full-time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

If so, we have a tasty opportunity for a Brand Manager on a (Maternity Cover) Fixed-Term Contract to join our Brand Team at Border Biscuits, here in Lanark.

About The Role

As a Brand Manager at Border Biscuits, you will be the guardian of the Border Biscuits brand. You will be part of a dynamic team that is to oversee and execute the brand strategy, rooted in consumer and shopper insight, which will, in turn, build Border brand value and drive forward Border\'s long term growth strategy. The successful candidate will deliver marketing, innovation and commercial projects, whilst working closely with multiple cross functional teams, and support and develop their team. This role reports directly to the CEO of Border.

While the role operates from Monday to Friday dayshift. Flexibility will be required to support the business, for example to support key projects.

What will the role involve?

As Brand Manager, you will be the guardian of the brand strategy, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the brand\'s vision, values, and guidelines with clarity and consistency. You\'ll take the lead in developing commercially viable innovation briefs that resonate with our core audiences and strengthen brand positioning. From concept to launch, you\'ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including Technical, NPD, Finance, and Sales—to steer innovation projects through the Stage Gate process, securing Board approval where required. Market research will be a part of your role, ensuring all product and design developments are grounded in consumer insight and tested for success.

You\'ll also be responsible for executing our creative marketing strategy, driving awareness and brand advocacy through compelling campaigns and a strong promotional plan including marketing assets for sales and trade events. Working with agency partners, you\'ll oversee the full marketing mix across both Grocery and Out of Home Foodservice channels, while managing the development of brand packaging for a large scale labelling review. The role involves full accountability for marketing and category budgets, including oversight of costs to deliver optimum ROI. You\'ll play a key role in data strategy—defining how and where we gather insight—and turning it into actionable recommendations that fuel growth. Finally, you\'ll manage and support a talented team, helping them prioritise effectively and develop professionally in line with company goals.

Knowledge & Experience

Required

  • Demonstrable marketing experience, ideally in a manufacturing branded business
  • Highly articulate with excellent written communications and presentation skills
  • Experience of full marketing mix strategy execution, including digital
  • Experience of agency management
  • Project management experience, with evidence of delivering projects and results within set timescales & managing budgets
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Desirable

  • Marketing professional membership
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with content creation and photography
