Monday to Friday 40 hours per week, 08:00am – 16:30pm Permanent Site based, Lanark.
As Quality Auditor you would be responsible for driving compliance to food safety and championing quality standards in your area, through delivery of training, completion of competency assessments and internal audits. You will be responsible for driving a food safety culture at our site in Lanark, engaging production teams and management to ensure food safety is high on their agenda. You will not be afraid to have difficult conversations with management to ensure standards are achieved and maintained. Working closely with key stakeholders you will contribute to the completion of essential training for all production colleagues as well as ongoing competency assessments. You will also be responsible for completing and reporting on internal audits as well as supporting the achievement and maintenance of BRC audit standards. To support you in the success of your role, you will need to have excellent time management and prioritisation skills and the ability to manage upwards where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct GMP and process audits to ensure production teams maintain site food safety and quality standards.
- Monitor compliance with the HACCP food safety system and ensure records are accurately completed and maintained.
- Carry out routine quality checks and assessments in line with the site Quality Management System (QMS).
- Deliver food safety and quality training to production teams to support competency and compliance.
- Perform product and material checks, including goods-in validation, product sampling, and probe calibration.
- Assist with customer complaint investigations, including data gathering and supporting root cause analysis.
- Manage and document non‑conforming products or materials, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, materials, and production processes.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- HNC/HND qualification, preferably in Food Technology or a related discipline.
- Experience conducting internal audits in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Understanding of food safety and quality management systems.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Experience within food manufacturing, ideally baked goods or similar FMCG products.
- Aware of UK food legislation, technical standards, and industry codes of practice.
