Boralex has been providing affordable, renewable energy for everyone for over 30 years. The Group of more than 600 employees operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of 2.5 GW and is developing a project portfolio of more than 3 GW in wind, solar and energy storage.

The role: Leading our newly created marketing, public affairs and communication team (MPAC), you’ll play a critical role in our growth in the United Kingdom. Reporting to the VP marketing, communication and public affairs Europe, you’ll work alongside the SVP United Kingdom and various Development team members. This role is critical in shaping and executing our public affairs strategy, enhancing our brand presence, and driving our marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public affairs and communication, an appetite for marketing and some management experience.

You will play an important role in:

  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies to influence policy and regulatory frameworks in line with Boralex strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and advocacy groups, at various levels (UK, Scotland, England and local).
  • Monitor and analyze policy developments and provide strategic advice to senior management.
  • Oversee all internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to enhance Boralex’s reputation and visibility in the UK market.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, and crisis communication.
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to promote Boralex’s projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts, including social media, website content, and online campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the projects development team to develop marketing materials and support business development efforts.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a growing team of experienced public affairs, communication and marketing specialists.

To succeed in this position, you need:

  • Minimum of 10 years working in public affairs and communication, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy market and regulatory environment.
  • Confidence working to ambitious targets – you will know how to structure yourself and your team to work efficiently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – including the ability to communicate well, influence at a senior level, and make key decisions.
  • Ability to hire and retain a talented team – you will have prior experience coaching folks to help them be at their best.
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with distributed teams in a remote and multicultural environment.
  • Ideally, you also have previous experience in marketing and generating successful marketing campaigns.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for our mission.
