You will play a key role in:
- Implementing the Europe Health & Safety strategy, “2026 & Beyond”, ensuring full alignment with the Group’s growth ambitions and requirements.
- Translating the strategy into measurable objectives and clear operational KPIs.
- Leading Health & Safety roadmaps across all business areas, including Operations, Construction, Cross-Functional Projects and Support Functions.
- Acting as the custodian of continuous improvement in Health & Safety practices and processes.
- Identifying, assessing and managing major Health & Safety risks across the European region.
- Structuring and facilitating Europe-wide Health & Safety risk assessments and deploying associated mitigation plans.
- Ensuring compliance with multi-country regulatory requirements (particularly in France and the UK) and driving the harmonisation of Health & Safety practices across countries.
- Ensuring rigorous follow‑up and implementation of recommendations arising from audits.
- Deploying and championing the Safety Leadership Programme amongst managers, directors and vice presidents.
- Supporting operational teams in embedding a strong safety culture at every level of the organisation.
- Continuously developing the Health & Safety capabilities of managers and operational teams.
- Strengthening individual and collective accountability for prevention and risk management.
- Leading major Health & Safety initiatives across Europe, including the deployment and optimisation of digital tools (e.g. implementation of the Cority software platform).
- Providing close support to strategic growth projects, including the acceleration of our activities in the UK.
- Enhancing Health & Safety vigilance and standards across all construction activities and throughout the contractor network.
- Acting as the primary point of contact and subject‑matter expert for all Health & Safety matters across Europe.
- Working closely with Human Resources, ESG, Operations, Construction and the Group Health & Safety teams.
- Actively contributing to strategic decision‑making and presenting key performance indicators (TRIR, incidents, maturity levels and training progress) to executive committees and governance bodies.
- Leading, coaching and developing a Health & Safety team of two direct reports.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree‑level qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Health & Safety, HSE, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (15+ years) leading and managing Health & Safety functions within international, multi‑site organisations.
- Demonstrated and well‑established experience in the United Kingdom; practical knowledge of the UK operational and regulatory environment is essential.
- Proven experience within the construction sector, heavy industry, or renewable energy industry would be highly advantageous.
- Strong experience in matrix management, change management and the management of complex stakeholder environments.
- In‑depth expertise in Health & Safety regulations and practices across multiple jurisdictions, particularly France and the UK.
- Excellent risk assessment, analytical and organisational skills, combined with a strategic mindset and a pragmatic operational approach.
- Recognised leadership capabilities and the ability to influence effectively without direct line management authority, enabling mobilisation, support and constructive challenge to senior leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, with daily use in an international environment.
- A results‑oriented approach, strong prevention culture, a high level of accountability, exemplary conduct and strong credibility in operational environments.
