Graphic Designer and Technical Editor, Senior
The Opportunity
We are seeking a versatile and mission-focused Graphic Designer and Technical Editor to support daily intelligence production for a U.S. defense client. You’ll create clear, compelling visuals, including infographics, cartographic products, data visualizations, and briefing materials that support and enhance analytic understanding. You’ll edit and format written intelligence products for clarity, consistency, grammar, and compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), including ICD 203/206 tradecraft standards.
In this fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with analysts and subject matter experts to shape and refine finished intelligence products. You’ll contribute to both content and presentation, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of editorial integrity and visual communication.
You’ll also help maintain documentation templates and editorial style guides, support version control for draft and published materials, and advise colleagues on best practices for both writing and design. This position requires creativity, precision, and a passion for clear communication in support of national security.

You Have
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, or publication layout
- 1+ years of experience in technical editing, copyediting, or document formatting
- Experience working within the U.S. Intelligence Community or Department of Defense, DoD Joint structure, and U.S. Government classification and handling policies
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience formatting and managing intelligence products using Microsoft Word templates and styles
- Experience reviewing and editing documents for ICD 203/206 compliance, including English grammar, editorial style, and technical writing conventions
- Knowledge of Defense Intelligence Enterprise tools and platforms
- Ability to create visual products from complex, data-rich, or sensitive analytic content
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor\’s degree in English, Communications, or Visual Design
Nice If You Have
- Experience supporting intelligence analysis related to African political, security, or socio-economic issues
- Experience supporting a Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or Service Headquarters
- Experience with cartographic software such as MAPublisher or ArcGIS

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
