As a Relief Dispenser, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. You will spend your time building great relationships with patients, listening to and understanding their needs, greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to help patients make informed decisions about their health and wellness.
Key responsibilities:
- Prescription dispensing while ensuring the safe supply of medicines, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
- Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
- Keeping up to date with new innovations in-store and complying with operational processes.
- Supporting patients to manage their prescriptions their way, ensuring reliable repeats and effective medicine management to promote adherence and reduce waste.
- Communicating with the store teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Working with evolving technologies within the store gives you the opportunity to work with new systems that further improve patient safety and release time for more patient interaction.
What you'll need to have:
- Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).
- Ability to travel across the defined geography with full flexibility.
- Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
- It would be great if you also have experience working in community pharmacy.
