The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

While completing your Dispenser training (NVQ2), you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing healthcare advice to support patients in making informed health decisions.

This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be considered if relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme.
  2. Dispense prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  4. Provide advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
  5. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the legal and safe dispensing of prescriptions.
  6. Stay updated with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  7. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

Working with evolving technologies, you will have opportunities to work with new systems that improve dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety and allowing more time with patients. Regular training and updates will develop your healthcare knowledge, with potential career development options including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.

Requirements:

  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2).
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
