The Replenishment Team are the single Business Unit team responsible for the day-to-day management of the Invent Forecasting and Replenishment System. The Replenishment Lead role is a critical role that links the Business Units and the Invent system / hub operation. They are responsible for applying business rules and parameter inputs to the system that influence all forecasts and replenishment decisions and are required to demonstrate a very high level of system understanding and process accuracy and control.
Reporting line into the Replenishment Manager who reports to a single Business Unit Head of Supply who works directly for the BU Director. The role is responsible for ensuring the Invent system has accurate forecasts and is making appropriate replenishment decisions made across 18M stocking locations in BUK and Ireland stores and to our dotcom fulfilment locations and ultimately is responsible for ensuring the system is setup to achieve agreed business strategy and outcomes across Availability, Working Capital and operating efficiency and cost lines. This includes being a key interface with the supply & commercial teams and with store teams.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for warehouse to store replenishment for the full Boots UK and Ireland store estate and all dotcom fulfilment locations for a subset of lines (up to c. 10-15k lines across 1900 stores = c. 5M stocking points) with impact on sales of £5Bn and stock budgets of £300M.
- Responsible for managing parameter configurations and target modifiers in the Invent system, as well as inputting into definition of data simulations and executing the agreed outputs.
- The role manages inputs into the Invent system that influence accuracy of forecast and replenishment results, including events (with a key focus on dotcom promotional support), media and space.
- Reviews and actions system alerts and executes response to and management of exceptions. Use deep knowledge of supply chain and Boots business to optimise that response.
- Is required to use analytical techniques to optimise accuracy and effectiveness.
- Works with the replenishment manager and the Hub team to understand most optimal methods of setting up and managing the system to deliver business objectives.
- Reviews store feedback and manages corresponding system inputs and stakeholder response.

- Supply chain experience, able to stakeholder manage, influence and negotiate and have collaboration skills.
- The need to demonstrate experience and understanding of stock holding and working capital with thorough understanding of their own area and broader context of the needs of the business and wider Supply Chain.
- Able to work and deliver at pace.
- Able to develop an SME level of understanding of the Invent system, including knowledge of AI/ML forecasting principles.
- Sound knowledge of Analytical tools and techniques.
- Continually looking for ways to improve their own KPIs.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work with good prioritisation skills to effectively manage own workload.
