Are you passionate about making a difference in the world of optometry? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opticians Professional Learning & Development Team as a Regional Trainer initially on a 6-month secondment basis.
This is a dynamic field-based role, ideally suited to someone located in the North of the UK offering the chance to make a real impact across the business. As a Regional Trainer, you’ll play a key role in delivering industry leading learning experiences that directly support the strategic priorities of Boots Opticians. You’ll influence how our colleagues grow, develop and deliver brilliant customer care every day.
What you’ll be doing
The role will facilitate the design & delivery of all dispensing, contact lens and customer service training for non-clinical colleagues. You will evaluate the impact of the learning, bringing insights back to the Professional L&D Leadership team.
Be part of a passionate team that designs and delivers engaging and inspiring optical learning experiences for groups of all sizes – whether large audiences, small cohorts or one-to-one coaching.
Deliver inspiring learning using a blend of face to face and virtual methods, including facilitation, presentations, and coaching – always to an exceptional standard.
Build strong, influential relationships with stakeholders across the business, including Regional teams and Store Leaders, setting them up to support their colleagues brilliantly. Each relationship will benefit the business, inform and enrich the programmes.
Track, monitor, and support colleague progression, ensuring they thrive throughout their learning journey.
Bring external insights and use these to enrich both learning design and delivery
What you’ll need to have
- Ideally a qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the GOC
- Located within the North geographically (the role will require extensive travel and time away from home)
Have an authentic passion for developing others.
Effective time management and strong planning and organisational skills.
Good presentation skills, great coaching skills, and strong facilitation skills with the ability to manage large, disparate groups with a confidence in working with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
It would be great if you also have
Experience in a retail or customer service environment.
Knowledge of the latest optometry practices and technologies.
A relevant qualification in optometry or training.
