As Regional Manager, you'll lead a significant regional business, shaping commercial performance, customer experience, clinical excellence and people leadership across a portfolio of stores serving thousands of patients every week.

With accountability for 30 stores and c. 500 colleagues, you'll play a critical role in delivering our strategy, accelerating growth and ensuring every store consistently delivers outstanding patient care and commercial performance.

Reporting to the Head of Territory, you'll lead through senior store and clinical leaders, driving sustainable growth, building a strong pipeline of future talent and creating an environment where colleagues feel empowered to perform at their best.

You'll set the tone for the region, creating a culture where patient trust, clinical excellence and team pride are evident in every store, every day.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Boots Opticians, Boots Hearingcare and the wider Boots business, you'll influence key decisions, contribute to strategic priorities and play an important role in the future success of one of the UK's most trusted healthcare and retail brands.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Lead a portfolio of stores to deliver outstanding commercial, operational and clinical performance.
  • Inspire, coach and develop Store Managers and leadership teams, building a strong pipeline of future talent.
  • Drive regional sales, profit and operational performance through clear strategic plans and effective execution.
  • Create a culture of accountability, empowerment, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Champion exceptional patient and customer experiences across every store.
  • Use data, customer insight and market trends to identify opportunities, solve challenges and improve performance.
  • Lead and embed change initiatives that support business transformation and long-term growth.
  • Build strong relationships across your region through regular store visits, providing support, challenge and direction.
  • Ensure stores operate safely, compliantly and in line with clinical, regulatory and company standards.
  • Optimise clinic capacity and resource planning to deliver excellent patient care while maximising business performance.
  • Partner with Boots Hearingcare, Support Office teams, NHS stakeholders and local healthcare partners to strengthen our healthcare proposition.
  • Lead recruitment, succession planning and capability development to ensure the region has the talent needed for future success.
  • What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
  • Significant experience leading large-scale, multi-site operations through senior leadership teams, with accountability for substantial commercial and people performance.
  • Proven experience leading a regional or divisional business of significant scale and complexity within a customer-facing environment.
  • A strong track record of delivering commercial growth, market share and operational excellence through others.
  • Experience developing and executing business plans that drive sustainable growth and improved performance.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a history of coaching senior leaders and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading change, transformation or large-scale business improvement initiatives.
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, using data and insight to identify opportunities and inform decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region

  • Experience in optics, healthcare, pharmacy or another regulated environment
  • Knowledge of NHS pathways or experience working with local healthcare partners
  • Understanding of clinical governance and professional standards
