Role Overview

Joining us as a Boots Healthcare Logistics Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity.

You’ll deliver first‑class care to those in the community who might otherwise never visit a Boots store.

You’ll be part of a unique service that prioritises the patient behind the parcel; this role offers so much more than other delivery roles.

About the role

You will report into the Healthcare Logistics Manager and your role will be to provide outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from Care Homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and other Boots stores within an allocated route time.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries whilst following safety protocols.

You’ll be provided with a vehicle maintained by Boots, with all necessary training and equipment, including a handheld device for pre‑planned routing and satellite navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Build great relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
  • Follow standards, operating policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Drive safely and legally.
  • Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and report any damage or issues.
  • Provide feedback on customer experiences and suggest improvements.
  • Act as an ambassador for Boots Healthcare Logistics.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year’s driving experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
  • Self‑driven and able to work at pace to meet service levels and targets.
  • Physical stamina and capability to lift loads in a manual role.
  • Comfortable using new technology.
  • Remain calm when faced with unexpected changes or challenges.
  • Comfortable in new situations and meeting people.
  • Desire to help people and deliver outstanding care.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Experience in a driving role.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing role.
