Overview
The starting salary for this role is £12.60 per hour, rising to £13.37 per hour on completion of the NVQ level 2 training program.
The Boots dispensing support pharmacy (DSP) is a highly advanced, automated pharmacy based in Preston. On a daily basis we compile circa 106,000 prescriptions for the general public which are dispatched back to stores across the country ready for customers to collect. The Dispensing Support Pharmacy is a highly bespoke and unique operation, and the role of an operative is a hybrid of traditional warehousing and pharmacy roles.
What you will be doing
Working within the Dispensing Support Pharmacy you will be part of a large team working closely together to ensure prescriptions are assembled accurately and with patient safety at the heart. Typical duties will be picking and sorting medication so that it can be automated into individual customer orders.
Open hours
The Pharmacy is located at Walton Summit Preston and is co-located as part of the Alliance Boots group. The site is open Monday to Saturday from 06:00-22:00.
What you need to have
- 1+ years of experience working at pace
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Punctuality and timekeeping are important
- A good level of numeracy and literacy
- Your safety within the workplace is paramount therefore you\\\’ll need to work in a safe manner with the safety of colleagues in mind at all times.

- Experience within warehousing, production or pharmacy would be advantageous but isn\\\’t essential
