The Condor programme is Boots' largest and most exciting programme at the heart of Boots UK’s growth plans. It is delivering a replatformed boots.com on new modern flexible and efficient Salesforce technology to optimise the online shopping experience for our customers, simplify operational activities for our colleagues, and unlock rapid and efficient development of new features to adapt to market and customer changing expectations.

We are a truly collaborative cross-functional team spanning product, technology delivery, business architecture, and change across all business functions in Boots, working with one vision to deliver a fantastic digital experience to our customers. We have an exciting technology delivery opportunity to join the programme, working in our core Product Delivery Engine (PDE) team. Within the PDE, Product and Technology jointly lead the design, build, and test activity across our Salesforce development squads and the wider Boots application landscape.

This role will lead the 3 tribes, each with multiple development squads, alongside multiple development teams across Boots' existing platforms and third-party applications which integrate with boots.com. This role will lead the technology designs and delivery across these teams with a focus on the overall plan, ensuring this is aligned across all areas. The 3 tribe delivery managers and team leads for Boots delivery will ‘task’ report (dotted line) into this role. You will report into the overall programme Technology Delivery lead.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the overall delivery plan across the Core Product Delivery Engine (PDE), managing interdependencies effectively.
  • Drive the core PDE delivery to the plan, assisting teams in swiftly resolving issues.
  • Align design and build activities across Salesforce and Boots application teams for effective integration.
  • Motivate and support teams to achieve their best performance and celebrate successes.
  • Collaborate with Product Leads to maintain a steady flow of features and user stories into development.
  • Work with Tribe architecture teams to deliver High-Level Designs within timelines.
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues for the Core PDE appropriately.
  • Provide accurate and meaningful reporting input to the Programme Board.
