Welcome to Pharmacy Operations, a team within Central Operations designed to support our store and field teams to deliver for our pharmacy customers. We simplify and bring to life exciting initiatives and projects in stores while maintaining and improving the basics. As a Pharmacy Operations Lead in our Core Pharmacy team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how pharmacy services and operational processes are designed, communicated and embedded across Boots pharmacies.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Pharmacy Operations Lead plays a critical role in supporting the transformation, maintenance and continuous improvement of pharmacy services and initiatives. The role exists to ensure pharmacy teams in store and in the field have the guidance, systems and support needed to meet contractual requirements and customer needs. It also supports strategic business growth by enabling a robust and scalable operating platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage continuous improvement projects within Pharmacy Operations, ensuring activity is aligned to business goals and delivered to plan.
- Develop simple, clear and concise operational guidance for pharmacy teams so new and existing processes are implemented consistently and efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design, refine and improve pharmacy workflows, service models and operational ways of working.
- Provide data-led insights to inform decision-making, track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Act as a key communication link for project updates, operational changes and guidance across internal teams.
- Support stores and field teams to embed new processes, remove operational blockers and resolve challenges.
- Maintain and improve existing guidance through continuous review, evaluation and updates to keep content relevant, accurate and easy to use.
- Confidently manage external partners and suppliers to ensure consistent maintenance of consumables stock levels.
What You’ll Need to Have (Our Must-Haves)
- Experience in pharmacy operations or healthcare service delivery.
- Proactivity and strong organisation skills, with experience in project management.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and remain effective in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with confidence using data to inform decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience in process optimisation or continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards or pharmacy contractual requirements.
- Experience creating presentations or briefing materials for a range of stakeholders.
