Boots UK is looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our Stores Service Centre team in Nottingham. The Stores Service Centre is a world-class automated warehouse operation and in this role, you will be responsible for all operations which ultimately contribute towards right first-time delivery of stock to our 1900 stores across the UK and ROI.

Key responsibilities:

  • To lead, develop, and motivate a team of department managers who are customer-focused. These managers deliver plans that maximise on-shelf availability and provide the highest service level possible to customers. This is achieved through effective and accurate supply of stock, from delivery receipt to onward supply to our stores.
  • Meet service and cost targets for your function, including setting and agreeing your service targets and budgets, and maintain costs in line with budget.
  • Manage performance of the team and ensure you give feedback in the moment, using a coaching approach to develop people and complete performance reviews, thereby ensuring a positive culture.
  • You and your team will have a Health and Safety first mindset, ensuring that employees adhere to policies and achieve continuous improvement through implementing accident reduction plans.
  • Review resourcing strategies, creating a brilliant environment and culture for our diverse team and maintaining USDAW partnership to support our team members.

What you'll need to have (our must-haves):

  • A strong leader, with experience managing and motivating an operational team including planning and organising, exposure to controlling costs and managing a budget.
  • Detailed experience of supply chain and warehouse processes and working with automated warehouse systems.
  • Flexibility and preparedness to “go the extra mile” for the customer whilst remaining focused under pressure.
  • The ability to interpret high-level data, forward thinking, who can guide and motivate teams to achieve results, and help to create a culture that they are proud of.
  • Adaptability and openness to change, and willingness to embrace the ambiguity of a continually changing environment.
