The Brand Communications Manager is responsible for shaping and executing innovative brand campaigns and value-driven stories designed to encourage customers to visit and shop with Boots. The successful candidate will be experienced in consumer communications, with an eye for creative storytelling, a deep understanding of what makes a strong newsworthy story and well-established relationships with lifestyle, retail and value media and influencers. The Brand Communications Manager will be adept at the delivery of impactful campaigns, skilled at creating and landing trade-driving news stories and able to champion the brand’s values in everything they do.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to the Head of Consumer Communications, this role requires exceptional communication, creativity and resilience, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever evolving retail landscape. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement innovative PR campaigns that resonate with our audience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with our brand values.
  • Manage media relations and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse PR performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead crisis communication strategies to protect and enhance our brand reputation.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Proven experience in consumer PR or communications.
  • Strong understanding of media landscape and digital communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for teamwork.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience in the retail or healthcare sectors.
  • Familiarity with social media management and content creation.
  • A network of media contacts in relevant industries.
