The Boots Digital Implementation team are looking for a talented UAT Assistant to play a key role in improving our Mobile App customer experience. The successful candidate will support the Digital Assistant Release Manager by conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), targeted, exploratory, and regression testing across multiple environments as part of an agile-driven release process. Working across both iOS and Android platforms, you'll help ensure every app release delivers a seamless experience for our customers.
Role responsibilities:
- Liaising with cross-functional teams to understand the scope, requirements, and customer impact of each mobile app release.
- Executing UAT, exploratory and regression testing across iOS and Android devices, ensuring all customer journeys perform as expected.
- Raising, tracking, and retesting defects, ensuring the Digital Implementation team are kept informed of progress throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Communicating any risks, issues, or impediments in a timely manner, enabling the Digital Assistant Release Manager to prioritise and make informed release decisions.
- Supporting out-of-hours testing during app release windows and go-live activities, as well as any ad hoc testing requirements.
- Developing a working knowledge of the systems, tools, and integrations that support the Boots Mobile App, including customer-facing features and backend services.
- Gaining exposure to a variety of digital release platforms across the Digital Implementation team and providing testing support for these releases where required, helping to ensure consistent quality across the wider digital estate.
- Supporting the Digital Implementation team and wider Digital teams as required, including peak trading events, feature launches, and business-critical activities.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and the overall customer experience within the Boots Mobile App.
What you’ll need to have:
- Holds a Foundation ISTQB qualification with a strong understanding of the seven principles of testing, alongside practical experience across a range of testing disciplines.
- Has experience testing mobile applications or digital products, with an understanding of the differences between iOS and Android platforms.
- Is skilled at identifying defects, patterns, and trends, using insight to improve the quality and customer experience of the Boots Mobile App.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, confidently collaborates with cross-functional teams, and is proficient in tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Is adaptable, embraces change, and thrives in a fast-paced agile environment, demonstrating resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Can manage workload independently, meet tight deadlines, and support overnight deployments and occasional weekend work where business needs require.
