We are looking for a proactive and highly skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team, providing essential Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), breakdown response, repair, and continuous improvement support to our Logistics Warehousing facilities. The role will involve working on a variety of automated systems, including pallet and tote box cranes, lifts, transfer cars, and conveyor networks, ensuring all equipment operates at optimal efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Ensuring all materials handling equipment and facilities are maintained, repaired, and continuously improved to meet availability expectations.
  • Self-Management: You will work largely unsupervised, prioritising tasks effectively and ensuring that customer requirements are met in an efficient, high-quality manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Management, Improvement Engineers, first-line fix managers, the Control Room, and Operational teams to maintain seamless operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Raise Continuous Improvement (CI) programs to enhance equipment performance and overall warehouse efficiency.
  • Compliance & Safety: Upholding world-class standards in security, health and safety, regulatory compliance, and housekeeping.
  • Reporting: Ensure accurate shift/breakdown reports are completed, contributing to ongoing improvements in our engineering services.

What you'll need to have

  • Qualifications: A time-served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least a Level 2 qualification in the other.
  • Experience: Experience in a similar electro-mechanical engineering field.
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work at height. A 'Right First Time' approach to all tasks, ensuring efficiency and high-quality work. Motivation to lead and motivate others within the team. Innovation: A desire to promote innovation and continuous improvement across all working areas.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience with automation systems.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and maintenance planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools.
