What you’ll be doing:
As an AI Architect, you will lead the definition, design, and delivery of cutting-edge data and AI architecture solutions. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our solutions are not only cost-effective and secure but also ethical and scalable. Your role will involve creating reusable designs and engaging with senior stakeholders to influence our AI strategies and succeed in adopting AI technologies.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the definition, design and delivery of AI architecture, patterns and solutions.
- Ensuring all AI solution designs meet business requirements and are secure, ethical, cost effective, and scalable.
- Work with internal teams to deliver AI capabilities that maximise the value of our data, including agentic automation, generative AI, knowledge agents, and agentic commerce.
- Enabling other technology teams to adopt and continuously improve AI principles, standards, reference architectures and reusable patterns.
- Work in conjunction with wider architects, engineering, and data teams to create reusable AI solutions, platform capabilities and architectural guardrails.
- Engaging with external technology and engineering partners to ensure our AI solutions align to industry best practices, responsible AI principles and forward plans.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves):
- In-depth knowledge of Azure, particularly in AI technology and integration.
- Experience with Databricks or equivalent cloud data platforms.
- Proficiency in developing technology reference architectures and solutions.
- Familiarity with Data Engineering and MLOps approaches.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain AI concepts to diverse audiences and influence senior stakeholders on AI strategies and architectural trade-offs for proposed initiatives.
- A broad and balanced understanding of enabling business goals through IT capabilities, AI technology, and change management.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in AI product and platform delivery across various data and AI maturity levels.
- Subject matter expertise in AI architecture and responsible AI for globally distributed teams.
- Experience in team management or technical leadership of multi-disciplinary AI, data and engineering teams.
- Experience working in Retail, Pharmacy, Healthcare, Supply Chain or CPG industries.
- Experience in architectural notation, such as C4 or UML, and the ability to document AI system context, data flows, model lifecycle and integration patterns.
