An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Boots Ireland Marketing Team for a Marketing Manager for Healthcare, Pharmacy and Seasonal. Accountable for shaping and delivering the full marketing agenda across our most commercially critical areas—leading the flagship Summer and Christmas seasonal campaigns, and driving continuous, high‑value support for healthcare, pharmacy, and value propositions—while also overseeing the ISM workstreams as part of our broader growth strategy.
A successful Marketing Manager in this role will be able to seamlessly work across all of Boot’s iconic categories & brands to deliver a full spectrum of marketing activity, tailored to a local Irish audience. A good knowledge of healthcare trading compliance, marketable and non-marketable products and Irish Healthcare regulation and changes to the market/ competitor activity would be beneficial to this role, however not essential. A keen interest in the commercial requirements of the business and a proven ability to strategically plan and prioritise several different campaigns at once is essential.
A successful individual will thrive at the prospect of owning the responsibility to drive the strategic planning & implementation of our healthcare, pharmacy and seasonal plans, working with the Assistant Marketing Managers to deliver hugely successful and commercially driven campaigns, across all marketing channels. This varied and dynamic role ensures that you will be involved in a range of key initiatives that include new service launches, new product launches as well as being tasked with creating a seasonal plan that maximises budget and opportunity to deliver stronger results year on year.
Daily work includes all aspects of the role and you will be directly involved planning and implementation discussions across healthcare, pharmacy, seasonal, value and ISM. Whilst these areas are weighted in terms of priority to the business, they all require a good level of focus, knowledge and understanding, ensuring that you can deliver on the business’s priorities, requirements and approach agreed with the Director of Marketing. This role reports to the Director of Marketing for Boots Ireland and you will work cross functionally with the ROI Marketing Team and UK Marketing Teams, specifically the healthcare, seasonal, value and ISM marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and delivery of full, cross-category marketing plan
- Assessment of healthcare commercial calendar and opportunities working to maximise impact across these areas
- Align with ROI Pharmacy team on business priorities, service and proposition development, ensuring best in class customer-first comms messaging.
- Continually review of needs of ROI business and creation of bespoke localised campaigns
- Collaboration with ROI commercial teams to understand which priorities and initiatives should be supported throughout the year and maintain excellent relationships of same
- Collaboration with Boots UK teams to understand and adapt wider business activity where relevant.
- Partner with the incumbent media, PR and creative agencies to bring all campaign components together, pushing for opportunities to diversify, strengthen and optimise plans throughout.
- Drive reporting and post campaign analysis, sharing this with the wider business as required
- Partner with Boots UK ISM team, to agree and deliver all sales plan activity, development and messaging – including print and digital screen content.
- Collaborate with legal/ regulatory affairs to ensure all activity is in line with the needs of the Irish market and that we are compliant with local laws and regulations across all areas
- Experience dealing with senior stakeholders as on occasion you will be asked to present to the Irish Leadership Team
- Management and development of two direct reports (Dublin based).
- Travel to Ireland (every 6-8 weeks), for team meetings, agency meetings and store visits
About you:
- In depth, cross channel marketing expertise for a retailer
- A strong understanding of customer behaviour and ability to understand data, insights and customer journeys
- An analytical approach to marketing, balancing brand and commercial objectives
- Demonstrable commercial and strategic knowledge, allowing you to execute successful multichannel campaigns across multiple channels simultaneously
- Experience or knowledge of the Irish retail and healthcare market
- Financial literacy and budget management
- Confidence in presenting and discussing activity with large groups, in person and remotely
- Stakeholder management experience at all seniority levels and strong relationship building and maintenance skills
- Ability to manage simultaneous activity across multiple business areas
- A flexible and proactive approach to the role
