The Project Manager role is a key position, responsible for the mobilisation and management of projects within a large investment portfolio supporting the Retail side of our business. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of the business, delivering technology critical to Boots' performance. The role involves working collaboratively with key business users and other IT colleagues, in an interesting and engaging environment. The projects you'll be working on may take many forms, from implementing new technology in the Boots Customer Support Centre to making changes to the EPOS system in our shops. You'll be responsible for scoping out projects, making sure they are delivered effectively and ensuring the correct project management processes are followed.

We leverage emerging technology and robust data to transform our pharmacy and retail offerings, improve experiences for customers and patients and enhance operational effectiveness for team members. Key responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating all aspects of the project to ensure successful delivery of customer and business objectives.
  • Bringing together project team members from across the business and third-party organisations to build and deliver the project plan.
  • Leading the end-to-end project lifecycle, from planning, implementation, and evaluation of the projects.
  • Adhering to project management frameworks and standards within the team, including good financial governance.
  • Troubleshooting, problem-solving and escalating issues as required.

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

  • You’ll be experienced in IT project management (ideally PRINCE2 qualified) and managed IT projects end to end.
  • The ability to bring together project team members from across the business and third-party organisations to build and deliver the project plan.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a strong ability to build relationships and influence.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • You’ll need to be resilient in the face of challenges, and care and support others within the team.
  • You’ll need to be highly motivated and bought into the success of the team.
  • Understanding and adherence to project management frameworks and standards within the team, including good financial governance.
  • The ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve and elevate issues as required.
  • It would be great if you also have experience in Retail IT projects.
