Are you ready to elevate your finance career? Boots is seeking a Head of Finance to join our dynamic Finance team in Nottingham. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping our financial strategy, driving business performance, and delivering commercial insights that make a real impact on our customers and colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

As the Head of Finance for Marketing, you will be a strategic partner to our Chief Marketing Officer, reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Director. You will lead a team business partnering our Marketing, Loyalty and Personalisation teams, as well as taking overall ownership for Commercial costs. You’ll work closely with the wider Commercial Finance team, along with FP&A and Financial Control teams.

Your role will involve:

  • Driving performance to meet and exceed financial targets while advising on key commercial initiatives.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with our CMO and with other Directors across various functions to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Providing insight‑led analysis that informs strategic decision‑making and enhances business performance.
  • Ensuring accountability by holding leaders to their financial commitments and fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
  • Leading with credibility, inspiring a collaborative high‑performance culture that drives results and innovation.

What you’ll need to have (our must‑haves)

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Head of Finance with a strong focus on strategic partnership and team leadership.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with senior cross‑functional leaders to drive business performance in a complex, fast moving organisation.
  • A strategic mindset with ability to shape long‑term business plans based on market understanding and performance trends.
  • Ability to delve into detail when necessary to fully understand issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and challenge at executive levels, ensuring sound commercial judgment.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience in leading finance transformation programmes that enhance commercial insight and accountability.
  • Experience in partnering with Marketing in a large consumer focused organisation; extending across traditional media, digital performance marketing, retail media and large scale loyalty schemes.
  • Strong cash and working capital management experience, with ability to optimise cash flow and support operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with reporting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BW, TM1, Power BI).
