This is an exciting opportunity to join our commercial finance team, supporting the strategy of the largest and fastest growing area of the retail business, the Beauty team. We are looking for a Finance Manager to increase performance to deliver financial targets, deliver and advise on commercial programs and bring insight, challenge and relationship building and influencing skills to the role.
You will support our Beauty business unit, reporting to the Head of Finance, Beauty, and will sit within the wider Commercial Finance business partnering team and work with our FP&A and Financial Control teams. You will have direct relationships with the Beauty Business Unit Director and Head of categories.
Key responsibilities- Support heads of categories and their teams with understanding their performance, and analysis to inform future commercial decisions.
- Approval of business cases and business investment.
- Support in investment appraisals and partnering with project teams to deliver investments from concept to post investment.
- Create a strategic and stretching plan for Beauty.
- Hold commercial teams to account for delivering their budget/forecast and 3YP.
- Improve the profitability of the Beauty team.
- Develop working relationships with commercial teams and important finance stakeholders in FP&A and Financial Control.
- Complete tasks accurately to support the categories on month end.
- Understanding month end variances to budget and accurately forecast these, bringing clarity on the performance.
- Support the cost challenge across beauty by holding tension on costs.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience as a L5 with commercial awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to hold partners to account.
- Analytical and competent with experience reporting and reviewing the quality and accuracy of data.
- Ability to identify issues and guide next steps through to a conclusion.
- Be a team player.
- Excellent excel and SAP BW skills.
- Knowledge of Commercial TM1 reporting and Power BI.
- Previous experience working in a business partnering role.
